Annual Camp 2012 Camp Kit List


Annual Camp 2012 Camp Kit List 
To note
1.    Everything should be clearly marked with the owner's name and patrol name
2.    All valuables e.g. handphones, wallets will be kept by camp staff and returned upon leaving the campsite
3.    Guides are also advised not to wear jewellery except watches

Items to Bring
1.            Student Ez-link Card
2.            Sufficient cash (for lunch after dragon-boating)
3.            Poncho/raincoat/umbrella
4.            Torch (to be fitted with batteries)
5.            Notebook and pencil
6.            Cap/hat
7.            Insect repellent
8.            Sunblock lotion/lip balm
9.            Water bottle (minimum 1 litre)
10.          Personal medication
11.          Whistle
12.          Plastic bags
13.          Specs hooks/ rubber bands (for myopic campers)
14.          Camp booklet
·         Above items  are to be placed in the day pack at all times (one day pack per camper)
15.          Track Shoes/School shoes (2 pairs)
16.          Slippers (for bathing)
17.          Socks (at least 3 pairs)
18.          Guides / Sch T-shirts (with sleeves) –4 sets
19.          Cedar Shorts – 3 sets
20.          Track pants – 3 sets (black, navy blue)
21.          Underclothes
22.          Toiletries (in a toiletry bag): shower foam, face towel, tooth brush, toothpaste, shampoo, sanitary pads etc
23.          Bath towel
24.          Hair brush/comb
25.          Meal Bag (with plate, bowl, mug, fork and spoon)
(no disposable stuff, no using bowl as plate and mug, no small plates and bowls)
26.          Sleeping Bag
27.          Old newspaper (3-4 days’ sets of Straits Times)
28.          A ball of twine (COMPULSORY)
29.          Clothes pegs

Before water activity,
Sec 1s – PE tee, trackpants with cedar shorts underneath
Sec 2s – PE tee, trackpants with cedar shorts underneath
Sec 3s – PE tee, trackpants with cedar shorts underneath

After water activity,
Sec 1s – Red level tee, trackpants with cedar shorts underneath
Sec 2s – Pink level tee with school skirt
Sec 3s – House tee, trackpants with cedar shorts underneath


Day 3 attire
Sec 1s – PE tee, trackpants with cedar shorts underneath
Sec 2s – white farewell tee ’11, trackpants with cedar shorts underneath

Note: For the dragonboating activity, please bring along a set of separate underclothes, trackpants, correct shirt, cedar shorts, toiletries and bath towel

Each tin is priced at $12.
EVERY GUIDE HAS TO SELL AT LEAST 6 TINS.

The deadline for submission of cookie orders and money will be on 11 JULY, WEDNESDAY.

CEDAR FIESTA COY ONE

Dear guides, this post will be providing further info about the stall.


Name of stall: POP POP


Cost: $3 FOR THREE TRIES,   $2 FOR EXTRA TWO TRIES.


Venue: FLEC, G11


There will be 3 categories of prizes.


1) SMALL - sweets, erasers, badges


2) MEDIUM - posters, keychains, hole puncher, flower pens, notebook, bracelets, sponge bob pouch, wallet, toy car bank, scented leaves, small photo frames, small tissue box, sparkling crystal dolphin, decorative hook, towel, envelope holder, coin cases, decorative pencils, candle, small bag, soft toys, musical instrument ( drum),soap gift box


3) LARGE - teachers' personal belongings




Objective: To pop balloons with darts/ nerve guns.


If they manage to pop 1 balloon, they will get 1 small prize


If they pop 2 balloons, they will get 1 medium prize.


If they pop 3 balloons, they will get 1 large prize.


TAKE NOTE: 2 small prizes = 1 medium prize
                       2 medium prizes = 1 large prize
                       4 small prizes = 1 large prize.


How to : There will be a cardboard with balloons pinned on it. 
               Participants will stand behind the marked out lines using either the darts or nerve guns.
               If they use the nerve guns, they will have to stand at a further distance away as compared to the people using darts.




Please be responsible and turn up for your shifts.
Those who cant make it because your class shift clashes with the guides shift, please tell the CLs/ACLs BEFORE SATURDAY.
Patrol leaders, please know your patrol strength and record it down.

Outdoor Schedule (Open House)

Hi Guides,
In the outdoor segment of the Guides booth for Open House, we will be displaying our kitchen dresser and outdoor cooking set up , letting the parents and P6 students try some of the outdoor cooked hot dogs. Here are the duties for the Guides in the outdoor segment.

Those in shifts
7.30am to 9.30am(parents and students will not arrive until 9am)
1)Turf and set up the fire
2)Cook the hot dogs
3)Offer to parents and P6s once they have been cooked
4)Tell the parents and P6s more about the kitchen dresser and about about outdoor cooking
5)At the end of the shift, clear up the fire set up but leave the turfed land alone

9.30am to 11.30am
1) Set up fire again - could be a "live" demonstration to guests
2) Cook the hot dogs and offer them to the guests once cooked
3)Tell the guests more about the kichen dresser and about outdoor cooking
4)At the end of the shift, clear up the fire set up but leave the turfed land alone

11.30pm-2.00pm(open house ends at 1pm)
*same as those in Shift 2 except that everyone will be involved in the clear up and the turfed land has to be made normal*
