World Thinking Day 2016 & Annual Camp / NCO Update

Hi Guides.

1. These are the details for the various activities for WTD 2016. 

Games/Craft Booth
Requirements:

  1. With a space of 3m by 3m, design and run a games/craft booth related to the WAGGGS region designated (Location will be confirmed at a later date)
  2. Submission includes: 
    1. Photos with guides carrying out the activity
    2. List of resources and materials required
    3. Instructions of how the activity is conducted
  3. Additional Information: There will be a budget of $50
Make Friendship Quilts
Requirements:

  1. Make a guilty of fabric measuring 1m by 1m with an additional 2cm border. The quilt is to be sewn on a cotton material
  2. Only hand or machine stitching are allowed. Glues, staples or any other forms of fastening are not allowed
  3. The quilt is to capture the theme of WTD 2016: "Connect"
Take A Selfie
Requirements:

  1. Take a selfie (One person in the photograph only) in soft copy in jpeg format
  2. The photograph is to be taken in 300 Dots Per Inch (If you do not understand this term, just make sure that the photo has a high resolution and is extremely clear), with aspect ratio 4:3 or 3:4 (Portrait and Landscape photographs are accepted)
  3. The person in the selfie is to be attired in a Guide-related outfit
  4. The photograph is to capture the theme of WTD 2016: "Connect"
  5. A 50-word caption to describe the person's reflection of herself is required
  6. Stickers and writing are not allowed in the photograph
  7. Each team can submit a maximum of 10 photographs
International Costume Parade
Requirements:

  1. Dress a member of the team in a costume from the WAGGGS region assigned (Location will be confirmed at a later date)
  2. The person wearing the costume is required to participate in the hike and assemble at the event venue by 9AM
  3. Each team may submit a maximum of 3 entries

2. These are the updates regarding 2015's Annual Camp and 2016's NCO which were mentioned during today's guide session

  1. There is NO Annual Camp this year. However, there might be a day camp (Non-Stay) in school on the 19th and 20th November 2015 to replace 2015's Annual Camp
  2. 2015's Annual Camp and NCO will be combined into a single camp next year, from 16th March to 18th March 2016. As such, this camp will be at Camp Christine

Please note that guides session will resume this Wednesday, 7th October. Attached is the timeline for Wednesday's session. For Level 1s, please take note that you will be going to the Kindness Gallery to fulfil the requirements for the Kindness Badge and you have to report to the foyer punctually by 3.15 PM.

Initiatives Activity Details (14th July 2015)

Hi Guides. We would be having Initiatives on Friday, 14th July. Like the previous Initiatives, each coy would be doing different activities at the same time. The materials needed for the different dates and coy are stated below. 

Coy 1
Activity: Five Stones Making 
Materials needed:
  1. Cloth (can be from a T-shirt) 
  2. Sewing needle 
  3. Thread
  4. Green beans/beads (around 1 cup)
  5. Scissors

Coy 2

Activity: SG50 Themed Poster Design
Materials needed:
  1. Plain Paper (No foolscap paper!)
  2. Decorating/Colouring/Writing materials (markers, colour pencils etc)

Guides Cookies Sale 2015

Hi Guides,

This year there are 3 flavours of cookies to choose from for the cookie sale.

3. Chocolate Malt

Each tin is priced at $12.
EVERY GUIDE HAS TO SELL AT LEAST 6 TINS.

The deadline for submission of cookie orders will be on 10 APRIL, FRIDAY.
The deadline for submission of money will be on 24 APRIL, FRIDAY.

The following is the cookie order form. You can either print it out or copy the table to a piece of paper. All cookie order forms are to be in A4 size to make ease for the safekeeping of the cookie order forms.
